Gary Evans requested a working copy of Z-System for a BigBoard II. The disk operating system part of Z-System (ZRDOS) is proprietary and must be paid for. I suggest that anyone who wants to get Z-System running on his CP/M-2.2 computer purchase Z-COM from Echelon. Z-COM will install itself on your computer automatically in a few minutes, and it costs very little more than ZRDOS alone. You can buy the stripped down version (without all the utilities, which you can get from SIMTEL20 or from any of the dozens of Z-Node remote access systems around the country) for $70. The memory penalty of using Z-COM rather than a manually installed version is only 512 bytes. Once you have Z-COM running, you are not stuck with the standard version; you can modify it. I will be preparing a file describing some of the details on how to do that. Here is the info on Echelon: Echelon, Inc. 885 N. San Antonio Road Los Altos, CA 94022 415-948-3820 (voice) 415-489-9005 (modem) My wife is a dealer for Echelon, but I have no financial interest in any sales Echelon makes directly. I just think that Z-COM is a very fine product. For sales, please contact them directly. If you have technical questions, contact either them or me. Jay Sage SAGE@LL.ARPA
