I am going to write a "column" hopefully weekly, just including breif commentary and reviews of the comics I receive this week. If anyone cares to disagree with me, please respond. This week: Captain America: I hope Sal Buscema will soon go back to Hulk and ROM, and leave Cap to Mike Zeck. However, De Matteis seems to have the writing well in hand. Cap seems to have a persoonal life, for the first time in years. I like this issue and this series. Spiderman: once again a very solid effort. I liked the bit about quitting grad school, as I am a grad student, who has not yet been forced that far. I do hawever wish thast MJ would go back to wherever she came from. tthor: Quests are lots of fun. How bout this prediction, Sif and Dr. Kincaid; thor and Jane Foster. Can Sif stand a mortal???? Warp 5: I like Brunner, I like the story, I like the sibling rivalry. The artist on the back up feature, who is thankfully no longer Steve Ditko is about to be the regular p[encil artist on Mike Grell's Starslayer for First Comics. Jon Sable 3: A fascinating origin, I like Grell"s use of the juxtaposed storylines later in the book. So very different than either Warlord or Starslayer. JLA: I never thought that I would say that I miss Gerry Conway, but I don"t like Gardner Fox type JLA stories. One can only hope that Kupperburg did a one issue tribute to Fox. (no, I don"t really believe that. Marvel Sup[er Special 24: The Dark Crystal: Yeah, I know that this has been ouyt for a long time. but I just got it. I think that the comic did an admirable, if not excellent job in capturing the flavor of the movie, as well as it "essence" (if you qwill forgive the pun)> I real;lyshould apologize for my typing. Alright, I apologize. I don"t understand the editors> I"m a chemist not a computer whiz. I probably forgot one or two. Feel free to yell at me.. I am GINO! and I don"t have one idea in hell how to get in touch sith me.
