D'Arc Tangent!! Rave!! Rave!! As a preface, let me admit that I have been dreadfully jejalous of Phil Foglio (jealous, that is) since way back in 79 when I first found a copy of the book "Startoons" (a compendium of cartoons and funnies on the subject of science fiction.) Foglio covered three conventions, and his cartoons had me screaming in pain as my ribs gave out from laughing. Anyway, I expect D'Arcc Tangent, with the quality artwork and great sense of subtle humor permeating it, to become at least as popular as Cerebus the Aardvark. (Brash fellow, Foglio has to stick with it for at least four more issues before this is guaranteed. Anyway, I was right about Cerebus and X-men, so maybe I'll be right this time.) Hutch

I also find D'arc Tangent one of the more intriguing new comix in a while. (In fact I was about to say so when I found the notes I am responding to). By the way, the other artist's name is Freff. Not Freff somebody, just Freff, even on his passport. Causes him a bit of trouble betimes; it seems that our modern computerized bookkeeping systems aren't prepared to handle single name persons. Anyway, I've met him and heard some of his Godzilla carols, so I wasn't surprized at the quality of the comic. I believe that he did some illustration for "Titan" the SF book. I have submitted a message or two to this group (and some others), with no apparent responses or followup from others (the void strikes). I would appreciate it if those who read this message would send me some mail, or put a short suffix on their next contribution to the group, or something. There are few enough here to not clog the network. Thanks, it will help my paranoia (or confirm it - maybe I'm on a one-way leg of the net). Zhahai Stewart (ucbvax or allegra)!nbires!zhahai
