I just purchased copies of Journey #1 and #2. I am somewhat ambivalent toward them, and if anyone out there is interested in purchasing them, I will refrain from any in depth commentary. I would like to know if anyone else has bought them, and what he or she thinks. If anyone cares, they are published by Aardvark-Vanaheim. the same people who publish Cerebus. I am GINO!

Ayuh, I did purchase them, and found them to be rather "Maine-like" in their humah. As I read them I am reminded of the man in the Petridge Farm (sic) ads. The humor is strange. I think of them as being "Paul Bunyon" type stories, folk tales rather then conventional comics. I enjoyed them and had fun doing my Maine voice when reading them to brother, Broome. I cer- tainly can understand someone else not enjoying them though. My suggest to you all: if you enjoy a tall tale, or a folks story, give it a try. If you are expecting CEREBUS style humor, or typical comic book adventure, I would stay away from it. yet another #1 for the collection, OZ seismo!rlgvax!oz

I thought the storyline was reasonably interesting, if not quite the kind of thing I prefer. The only thing I didn't like much was the "crowdedness" of the artwork. It looks like he has a real talent, I just wish he'd use more space to put it in. Alice ...seismo!rochester!ritcv!tropix!aii
