Sorry, I don't agree with the enthusiasm that seems to follow Byrne everywhere. I thought his work, with Claremont, on the X-Men was very good. I thought his art, with Austin, was excellent. Working on his own, however, I have never enjoyed anything he put out. The story lines on FF were so short sighted, and so overdone, that he resorted to what we've started to call "The John Byrne Shuffle" every other issue or so. Terrax comes, kills untold hundreds of people, damages major parts of downtown NYC, and generally changes the face of the world, But its OK, Galactus makes it all better again. New York is destroyed, but its OK, it was all a dream or it was made Not Done by a minor character that walked in and out with no explanation. Alpha Flight stories look interesting, too early to tell yet whether he will slowly build to a new, growing, developing team or fall back on titantic, destuctive monsters that vanish without a trace later (like in issue 1). I like Bynes art /style/, but when he inks his own stuff, all the people look alike! There should be something more than different hair stlyes and colors between people.
