I have just finished reading Star Raiders, and had to
run right down and tell you all about it. Star Raiders is the
first in DC's new line of graphic novels, and is quite a good
addition to their line. With both the majors producing big
beautifully formatted books, we, the comic book buying elite,
are in for quite a treat.
It is absolutely beautiful. Jose Luis Garcia Lopez has done
his usual superb job. The story is also excellent, written by
Elliot S! Maggin. (hey, like the "!") (must've copied it from
me). Maggin may be the finest writer in comics, its a shame
that he hasn't the time to write a series full time.
At any rate, this is basically a take over the universe
extravaganza, with the evil guys vastly overshadowing the good guys
in terms of both power and numbers. But the good guys find a
legacy from the past, and in the end......(now that would be
telling.....)But the story has some usual and some unusual
twists. Read it, you'll enjoy it. Have I ever steered you wrong?
