aA strange green-skinned woman shows up in the new issue
of Scorpio Rose, with a young son who has a great future
(and a part in the plot, too!).
She gives her name as Lorelei.

ESteve Englehart and friends are holfding a contest for the
best letter discussing her previous appearances.
Since there mere facts don't contunt, I thought this might
generate some discussion.

So, whio is Lorelei? Irt seems clear she is Mantis, from
Steve's stint on The Abenvengers, who was married by Immortus to
the leadeer of the Cotati (intellignetgent pacifistic trees) who
was animating the dead body of The Swordsman.
By doing this, she became the Celestial Madonna (beating out
Moondragon), the mother of a child who was destined to
do something major to the Universe (like rule it, or
bring peace to it, or something like that).
She was last seen (at Marvel) heading off into space.

She next surfaced at DC, in an issue of Justice League,
where she encountered, if I remember correctly, Aquaman and
the Atom. At that point she called herself Willow and had turned
green. She was pregnant.
The green color came from having mystically merged with
her husband.

I have heard she showed up another time, but I missed that.
Maybe "House of Mystery"?

So now she is back, with her son, living in a condo
in Connecticut as a widow. Her neighbors suspect
nothing (maybe they are colorblind? No, she must
mystically mask her skin color)
. Her son is part of the current Scorpio Rose
plot, becuase someone is out to get him, asnd Rose
ins involved.

What I'm wondering is what is going to happen when this
kid grows up and does whatever he is supposed
to do. Who will Steve be publishing with then?

I am throwing this out to the net, with the following
questions?
What are her other appearances?
What inconsistencies have occurred between appearances?
What's really going on?
Are there other soimilar things that have happened,
i.e. cross-company continuity? by one writer?

Looking forward to your observations.
