I got the first issue of Marvel's Electra series this weekend. While I thoroughly enjoyed the Electra Saga when it was unwound in Daredevil, this limited series is poor. It is a cut paste job of the sequences of Daredevil dealing with Electra. The first issue does include some new material and the story from Bizarre Adventures. The problem is the cut/paste format gives an uneven flow to the material. Thus it is hard to even consider this a story. Electra was a spell binding character in the Daredevil series not so much because of the character, but because of the presentation of the character in reference to the world of Daredevil. Miller's style of unfolding a plot and flushing out the characters slowly was half of the intrigue to Electra. You aren't told everything up front. You don't know all the motivation for a character's action. You find that out as the story unfolds. As someone mentioned early, Marvel is getting greedy. It would appear they hope to make $$ by reprinting this Electra series on a higher quality paper and charging 2 bucks for it. The Electra series is not worth it. The reproduction of the artwork is flat. The cut/paste loses the Miller style. The only people who are going to get this are collectors for a sense of completeness not for quality. Miriam Amos Harvey
