From: Mike Ciaraldi <ciaraldi> Has anyone else seen the music video for Earth, Wind & Fire's song "Magnetic"? It deals with a pair of men dressed up in half-armor and electrified gloves, pounding on each other. Looks an awful lot like Ron WIlson's graphic novel "Super Boxers" to me. The fact that it seems to take place in a disreputable place rather than a classy arena also is suspicious. Does anyone have some inside info on the video? While we're on the subject of video, there was an Apple computer ad during the Super Bowl that went like this: Line of drab, empty-eyed men shuffling down a hall, all dressed in grey overalls (at least, grey on my b&w set). As they walk along down the tunnel, little TV sets are spouting propoganda at them . Cut to a woman in a tee shirt and shorts running, pursued by police in riot gear (again faceless, since thye have their face shields down). Cut back and forth as the men file into an auditorium and start watching a man who looks like I would imagine Big Brother would, exhorting them to despise their enemies, etc., etc. Woman bursts into the auditorium, with police right behind her. She is carrying a sledgehammer, then she stops, swings it around her head, and throws it into the giant TV screen on which BB is appearing. The screen explodes. The words appear on the real screen and the narrator says something like this: "Apple Computer introduces the Macintosh. So 1984 won't be like "1984". This is the only narration and the only revelation that it is an Apple ad. Mike Ciaraldi ciaraldi@rochester
