Before I start, let me first say, if anyone has a flame to this idea, please submit it directly to me. Don't bother other people on the net. Now, let's get onto business. I have recently become curios as to how my particular taste in comics matches up with readers on the net, and more precisely, with comic readers in general. So, if anyone else has similar desires, let me now invite you to join into the... ************************** * NET.COMICS READER POLL * ************************** Please send all responses directly to me (preferably by the end of January), and I will post the results as soon as possible. Please answer the following questions with either 1, 2, or 3 answers for each. (The choice of number of answers for each question is yours. The first choice will get 3 points, second 2 points, and third 1 point.) Winners and favorites will be tabulated accordingly. 1. What is your favorite title (of course) 2. Who is your favorite artist. 3. Who is your favortie writer. 4. What is your favorite team / group 5. Who is your favorite male character 6. Who is your favorite female character. From: akov68::boyajian Apparently, I missed the original posting calling for a comic reader poll. I'm not sure what the rules are, but I'll go by the categories that Nigel the Voluminous used. I'll assume that since he listed three choices in each category (most of them, anyway), that the poll requests three. Best Title: AMERICAN FLAGG!, THOR, CEREBUS Best Writer: Alan Moore, Howie Chaykin, Dave Sim Best Penciller: Walt Simonson, Howie Chaykin, Dave Stevens Best Inker: Terry Austin, Tom Palmer, Dick Giordano Best Group: Teen Titans, Legion of S.H., X-Men Best Male Character: Reuben Flagg, Jon Sable, The Masked Man Best Female Character: Wonder Girl, Ms. Tree, Kitty Pryde (well *I* like her!) Plus, here are some other categories I'll submit: Best Reprint Title: MANHUNTER, THE SPIRIT, STEVE CANYON Best "Back Feature": "The Rocketeer", "Marvelman", "Grimjack" [Since the Rocketeer doesn't have his own book, I consider it a back feature. also, let it be known that "The Masked Man" comes in a very close fourth.] Best Graphic Novel [so far]: THE STAR SLAMMERS, THE X-MEN, THE DEATH OF CAPTAIN MARVEL In a following posting, I'll submit my choices for Best of 1983. --- jayembee (Jerry Boyajian, DEC Maynard) UUCP: (decvax!decwrl!rhea!akov68!boyajian) ARPA: (decwrl!rhea!akov68!boyajian@Shasta)

O.K., O.K., I think its pretty safe to assume that just about every one has their answers in. So as soon as I can I'll run all the balots over to Price - Waterhouse and have them tabulate the results. They sould be posted in a matter of days. Anticipation is making me wait !
