From: Mike Ciaraldi <ciaraldi> Anyone care to guess who is going to die? Based on the coming attractions in Marvel Age magazine, it can't be Aurora or Sasquatch, since they show up in #14. So, who is expendable? A few ideas: Snow-bird? Naw, not used enough yet. Puck? Maybe, he has an interesting personality, but the others are unformed enough that they could take over. Marina? There are a lot of untied plot threads conncerning her, but there is at leastr another egg lying around that could replace her. Jean-Paul? Personality-wise, he is the most mercenary, but also somewhat bland. However, getting rid of him would remove one of his sister's powers. (unless she carried his corpse around, I suppose. Then he could be known as Deadman--whoops, already taken). Shaman? Also underutilized, but doesn't really add that much to the team, especially with Snow-bird able to handle some of the mystical stuff. A supporting character? The only steady one is Mrs. Hudson, Guardian's wife, who I admit liking a lot. Seeing as she was kidnapped in #11, I assume she is a prime candidate. Any other ideas? Mike Ciaraldi ciaraldi@rochester

Ah, yes, the ever-popular "Who will they kill?".... My vote goes for Guardian. It's novel (I don't THINK Marvel has ever killed off a team leader...), and it would provide a non-counterfeit trauma for the team. "Things fall apart, the center cannot hold/ Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world." I hope it's either Guardian or Marrina. If it's either of the twins, I shall be greatly anguished... I like watching them try to relate to one another. Yours in punditry, -- Betsy Perry UUCP: {decvax|linus|cornell}!dartvax!betsy CSNET: betsy@dartmouth ARPA: betsy%dartmouth@csnet-relay

Query: What is the source of the quotation "Things fall apart/ the center cannot hold...."? Seems I've heard it before (other than in the preceding news item). "The Center Cannot Hold" is also the title of Captain America #295. Mike Ciaraldi ciaraldi@rochester

My only guess is that they will cheat slightly. Remember the character "BOX" attempting to contact the Dept. "H" liason, after his meeting with the lady? My guess is that he becomes a member of "Alpha Flight", and gets blown away. But maybe not in that order. Oh, well, I guess we'll find out soon enough. Dave Truesdell
