     	<Flame ON!!!!>

     Just this weekend I picked up the latest issue of Rom (#56)
because it quest-starred some members of Alpha Flight and just
reading the first pages describing what happened at the Mercy
Hospital (the name is a real joke!) just about made me sick!
Judging from that, I can only assume that issue #55 WOULD have
made me sick. And here I thought that Rom was a "kiddy" comic,
silly me.
     Is there anybody else out there as concerned about the
incredible violence that Marvel is protraying in their Dire
Wraith invasion of Earth. I mean, one of the prerequisits (sp?)
of being a super-hero is that you should be "very durable"
to things like being punched and such things. In most of the
"battles" that Marvel protrays we see everybody going "Arghhh"
and flying into walls, but they always see to be (more or less)
none the worse for the fight. Now, here come the Dire Wraiths
who don't just hurt and kill people, but use us and manipulate
our forms and minds! Now its MY turn to go ARRGHHHHH!
     I think that Marvel has gone just a little too far and
from what I have been reading on this network there are other
instances of Marvel misdeeds.
     <Flame off>

	Well, to balance my flaming....
     I also picked up the latest Thor. Great stuff! It is
most definitely the best title they have going (right now, atleast).
     About the sorcoress Lorelei's attempts to seduce Thor...
I can't get enough of it. It's great to watch her accidentally
fail at every stage in her plan. She seems to be the biggest
bumbler since Lou Costello! In my opinion, in the end her whole plan
will back-fire and Thor will end up seducing her!
