[net.comics] Where can I get comics?!?!?!?

joshua@fluke.UUCP (J.B. LaRue) (03/27/84)

I live in the Everett area of washington. I can't find anywhere to
but the good comics. I have resorted to going down to the local
grocery store and waiting (patiently) for the new arrivals of my
favorites.

I am asking for a source to obtain good reading matierial on the comic
division. I am thinking of getting a subscription but that limits me
to the mag. I subscribe to. What if I want a certain comic (like the
marvel secret-wars!!!), where on earth (everett) can I get them?

This is my second request, I appologize, but I didn't see any
response to the first one.

Thanx,

grumbling, j.b.

I get all of my comics direct-order from a company called Heroes World
Discount Club; you may have seen advertisements for it in some of the
major comics series. Once a month, the company sends you an order sheet
where you can select the comics you wish at a discounted price (standard
books are $.48 instead of $.60, and sometimes order sheets come out twice
a month). The order form contains all of the Marvel line, all of the DC
line, and the lines of several independant publishing companies (First
Comics, Pacific Comics, and many others). The comics you choose are
shipped by either parcel post or UPS (your choice), either monthly in
one batch or bi-monthly, where you get the month's early releases (again,
your choice). There is a slight price difference depending on which of
the UPS/parcel post and monthly/bimonthly you choose; you pay the shipping.
The club also has a $10 membership/security charge which is returned when
you quit. I believe there is also a $3 to $5 yearly subscription fee on
your second and succeeding years. The club's address is:

	Heroes World Discount Club
	70 Morris St.
	Morristown, NJ 07960

I've been a member for better than a year now, and it sure beats waiting at
the newsstands!
