MY goodness, it's nice to see all this activity here.... Opinions first, I really like the Baxter paper, I think the colors are nice and bright, and I especially enjoy the thought that they won't soon look like my old 1960 comics do (despite the best of care). I have been reading ELFQUEST since the before time (issue 1) although I did not pick up my own copy of Fanstasy Quarterly. I like the story, love the artwork, and tolerate the cuteness. I have both the hardcover colors and the single black and white issues, and there is no evidence of alterations to the story or art between the two. I thought the first issue of MYTH ADVENTURES to be reasonably well done, but the artwork looked a bit rushed. When I asked Phil Foglio about this he said that a couple of scheduling errors had been made when the first issue was planned out ( like they didn't leave time for the letterer ) that left the inker with almost no time to do good work. He was doing an amazing FOUR PAGES A DAY! Expect future issues to be more polished. Rumors next, For those interested Starblaze is thinking of reissuing the first two (maybe three) Myth books, more on that as it becomes true. and lastly, Wild Speculation (NOT to be confused with rumors), It feels like time for the famous John Burne Shuffle to appear in Alpha Flight. Like we got SO used to seeing in Fantastic Four and occationally in X-Men, I have trouble believing he will kill off one of his major characters without a lot more foofarah than we have seen. Will he use the (overused) "it was all a dream", or the "[fill in your favorite diety] will step in and change everything", or maybe "there was just enough time to get him into this advanced life support suit, but now he can never leave it". Maybe I am just overly pessimistic, but death is one phase of reality that some comics have a hard time dealing with. Alice Bentley ...seismo!rochester!ritcv!tropix!aii
