[net.comics] Various subjects about Marvel

Greetings all readers,
I've had a problem with the workings of the creative juices
of Marvel Comics, or specifically the abandonment of Galactus's first
Herald, the Silver Surfer.
It would seem there are a few flaws in the story of Galactus
and his imprisoning of the Silver Surfer around the planet Earth.
The first problem is, when Galactus sent Firelord to go to Earth and
bring back Thor, why wasn't Firelord effected in the same way as the
Silver Surfer? Secondly, why was the Silver Surfer imprisoned by
Galactus in the first place?

Also, I would like to address the topic of the Secret Wars
[Secret Bores]. It would seem, to me personally, that Marvel could
have gotten more powerful bunch of criminal than those present; if they
were on the scale of Dr. Victor Doom...
Where did those two women appear from? They weren't there
in Secret Wars #1 or #2. I quess it must be another foul up by
Marvel Comics.
The Secret Wars are going flat. How could the Hulk hold
up billions of tons of rock? The use of Spiderman's webshooters,
and Captain Marvel's and the Human Torch's powers was a rather
skimpy escape.
Meanwhile, Galactus seems to appear to concentrate on
something. The next issue should prove to bring a headquarters
for Galactus.
I'm still wondering why Galactus hasn't consumed the planet.
I'm sure he could use the extra energy and the Beyonder could simply
create another planet.
At this point logic would be absurd, since the "Wars" have
no direction and when do we get a hint of what the Beyonder truly is?

(SLIGHT SPOILER IN THE NEXT PARAGRAPH!!!)
If you read the Marvel Age magazine, we see that Dr. Doom
is going to fight Galactus. I think that's a joke. Remember that
Galactus is telepathic so he could read the thoughts of Doom and
counter any move (in fact, this makes the ending of FF#214 <or so>
where Reed bluffs the Big G rather absurd) that Doom would make.
