[net.comics] Continuity, Misc.

 > (3) As another measure of Marvel Continuity, X-MEN #187 not only
 > has Storm and Forge fighting Dire Wraiths (from ROM) in Dallas,
 > but they'll be doing it in the middle of a blizzard (in summer),
 > brought about by the Casket of Ancient Winters from THOR. Wintry
 > effects from the Casket also pop up in AVENGERS #249.

In some ways it's kind of nice to see this cross book continuity. But
then I remember the sole reason Marvel does this (as I see it) is
to sell more comics--get kids who buy X-MEN or ROM to pick up THOR
(as if they don't already). Granted, I buy the above three books
(though why I put up with Avengers these days I don't know), so I'm
not too affected, but I'd still like to be able to pick up a comic and
fully appreciate the story without having to buy the last 8 issues or
issues from 3 or 4 other titles....

RAMBLINGS:

On another note, I just obtained all the Dreadstar issues (Epic Comics)
as well as the Graphic Novel...Fantastic!! I especially like Syzygy.
Does anyone out there know of any plans to reprint the Metamorphosis
Odessey series from Epic Illustrated? What are your opinions on
Dreadstar?

I really enjoyed the latest Alpha Flight--Byrne did (DOES!) a superb
job telling a story without words--The way Logan appeared at the
funeral really captured his character; this is just how I would
expect him to act/appear.

The LSH Baxter book looks good (love the logo), and I'm anxious to
see the revamped Super-Villains (no spoiler here--you see Lightning
Lord right at the beginning).
