[net.comics] The Incredible Hulk Game

Okay, after playing the Questprobe Hulk
adventure game, I would have to agree with
the article posted by GALACTUS a while
back. That game IS a mistake.
The whole point of the game, is to collect
gems on this planet with high-intensity
gravity.

COLLECT GEMS?!?! What madness is this?!?
There were no bad guys to face, except
ultron (and there was only one scene with
him in it) and no excitement. The whole
game is spent finding gems!!!

I wasted a good two weeks of my life
finding gems (15 or so). I thought that
after finding all the gems, that I was
going to be transported to another
level, but NO such luck. It is hard to
be objective when you are mad, but I
can give this advice--Don't bother.
The infocom adventures give much more
excitement (if that is what you want).

Anyhow, here are some hints on solving
the game--

look under the domes.
dig at each dome.
wave fan at certain dome.
get gem at examiner's desk.
get wax.
find Dr. strange.
say 'remember nightmare'
pull ring.
Don't be too hasty with the biogem.
ants will save antman.

That is all. Those should help anyone
finish the game.

Oh yeah, at the fuzzy area, never go
north until the very end (when you
have collected everything else)

and 'remember nightmare'

good bye.

Hmmm. Your report doesn't surprise me. In spite of all the wonderful hype
this game received in Bullpen Bulletins, something told me that no one
intended to do any "human factors" homework as far as this game was concerned.
People who enjoy computer games or even folk who got interested just because of
the comic character involvement are going to expect something a little more
exciting than an Atari "Adventure" cartridge re-tread. Even if the graphics
are more resolute and there are zillions of gems (or whatever) to find--I
mean C'MON--let's throw a little creativity into the idea behind the game!
I don't care HOW sophisticated your software is--if something isn't
interesting, it's gonna bomb! It's like a movie with good special effects
and a lousy plot.

And since when does the Hulk collect jems??!! Sheesh!!!

who's got time to play computer
                                             games, anyway??? (with all these
                                             comics to read)
