#N:uokvax:11900014:000:1471 uokvax!lmaher Aug 15 01:59:00 1984 I hardly ever read comics news magazines, but I did pick up Amazing Heroes #53 (Aug 15 cover date), which has an article on Bill Willingham and the Elementals. Iron Maiden was indeed changed to Chrysalis after "someone pointed out to Bill that Jim Steranko and Wally Wood had already appropriated the name for their 1965 T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents foe." Says Willingham, "You might refer to her as Chrysalis - Armored Shooter of Goo." His second favorite Destroyer (after Shapeshifter, of course) is Ratman, "a villain that has the proportionate disgustingness of a rat, or whatever." It's a good article, and the issue also includes an index to super-hero groups. Anyway, I thought I might pass on a few of their newsflashes, for the benefit of the net. Perez is leaving *both* Teen Titans books. His last issue of Tales... will be #50, but he'll be back for the last issue before reprints, #57. Frank Miller will be creating a 3 issue, 144 page, Ronin-format Batman series for DC in the summer of 1985. He will be writing and drawing the Elektra novel for Marvel, possibly for release in Spring 1985. All-Star Squadron #41 will have the origin of Starman for the first time. (So what, do I hear you say?) Aztec Ace is now monthly instead of every six weeks. Normalman guest stars in Journey #13. Groo Special #1 is out (with "cut-out figures, and other goofiness...") Wishing you Shade, Sweet Water, and Smurf Repellent, Carl ..!ctvax!uokvax!lmaher
