how did all those cosmic beings sneak onto the list?
if you want cosmic beings:

	1) Order and Chaos
	2) Eternity
	3) Simonson's Odin
	4) Dark Phoenix
	5) The Celestials (yuk)
	6) Galactus
	7) All the Watchers
	8) Franklin Richards

i mention Simonson's Odin because he's obviously a different
Odin than the wimpy god that got his butt whipped by the
Celestials (yuk). i also include Phoenix even though she is
not alive because to the best of my knowledge, none of these
characters are really alive (reality begins to creep in)

I believe it was explicitly stated that the Phoenix was the
second most powerful force in the Universe, with the first
being He who has only made one appearance in Dr. Strange.

Phoenix isn't dead at all - Jean Grey is. The Phoenix is
probably lurking around Earth waiting for Rachel to
sacrifice herself. :-)?

Right, issue 200 is just around the corner. I mean, look at
the blow off we had in 175. We have to outdo that in 200 (I
don't remember what happened in 150, offhand, and I never
read 100...). Actually, maybe Maddy will be involved (again,
gasp, poor kid). I just hope it doesn't turn out to be another
hoax like 175 with Mastermind. Grr. Well, you all know how
I feel about Jean Gray. I know we probably won't see her alive
again, and it probably would be bogus if we did. Guess I'll
just have to read some more "What if's"...

X-Men #150 was a double-sized issue confronting Magneto, where
Storm could have killed Magneto and couldn't bring herself to do
so, and where we found out Magneto's reasons for wanting to
conquor the world. It's one of my favorite X-Men issues, along
with #141-142.

X-Men #100 had Sentinels shaped like the old X-Men fighting the
new X-Men. Wolverine ripped the Marvel Girl-Sentinel in half.
Sure he knew it was a robot...

I don't recall anything special happening in #125. That may have
been before they started making every 25 issues a special.

> Actually, maybe Maddy will be involved (again, gasp, poor kid).

I suppose #200 will be either the birth of Rachel or the marriage
of Magneto and Aletys Forrestor. Or they'll save one for a
annual - lord knows the last two have been abysmal (separate
flame, if I get around to it).

I liked seeing Cyclops singlehandedly defeat all the new X-Men.
I can't imagine why Wolverine didn't perform a quick lobotomy on
Mastermind for messing with Mariko's mind.

*I* don't? Did I miss something?

> Guess I'll just have to read some more "What if's"...

Why? You *know* that everyone will just die, as always. :-(

Boy, they better NOT ressurect Jean in #200!!! Actually, I'm certain they
won't. I agree with your feelings about #175. Although even though I didn't
appreciate even a glancing reference to Jean/Phoenix in #175, it was a well-
crafted hoax. The Mastermind is one tough character--kind of makes you
wonder what ol' Charley would be capable of if he really put his mind to
it ;-). Nah, for #200 Claremont had better come up with something awesome
(like totally)! I don't mean just a double-sized tie-up-loose-ends issue,
either!
