After completely reading the Marvel Team-up with Spidey and the X-men, it seem that are some flaws. If I remember right, only the Juggernaut is supposed to have such power and it couldn't be transferred to anyone else. But after seeing (reading) the comic, it appears that then would have been the ideal time to crush the X-men. Firstly, they didn't have Prof. Xavier or Wolverine or Storm. It should have been easy for Black Jack and Cain to wipe the X-men off the street. Though Cain's power was indeed halved, there were still the powers of Black Jack. It would appear that they had all the power needed to clean house. Collosus was far from perfect (in battle) and Rogue was only about 50% effective. If she hadn't absorbed the Juggernaut powers, then the X-men would surely have lost the battle.
