Greetings Readers, Ay you might have read over the last few weeks, a heated debate has been going on over the network. It concerns the possible future of the character Miko. (see X-men) Some persons on the net (including myself) wnat to see Miko removed from Logan's life. She is, of course, a popular character and to terminate her without debate would be abdomible. So let's weigh each side and let the reader decide. Firstly, we have Logan, the very popular member of the X-men. He has special powers that alomost no one else has. His body can fight off any infection or poison and his claws can cut or kill anything or anyone. Through training by both the Canadian government and the danger room in Xavier's mansion, his skills have been honed to near perfection. He is not afraid of killing and, with a few exceptions, he's not afraid of death. Examples of his abilities can be found when he fought with the X-men on the moon, or when he challenged and helped defeat the Brood, or when he fought against Magneto. In these cases he always kept his rage in check. But, if he were to lose Miko, in the same way Scott Summers (Cyclops) lost Jean Grey (Phoenix), could he still control the rage? I would think not. Also, Guardian of Alpha Flight mentioned that Logan had had three years of therapy and nearly lost it. Does it seem that Logan could control himself when someone near and dear to his heart is taken away? When we look at Miko, we see a spirit at rest and it seems that she is content in her life. But she's also in control of the biggest Japanese crime clan. She has a brother who has been an enemy to Logan for some time. She sent Logan away, because she needed time to clean up the clan and vowed that when this was done she and Logan could marry. It would seem to me that if she became a memory to Logan that the need for her termination would be gone, but that also leaves the door partially open. It would also be beneficial to Logan in that Miko would not be "taken away" from him forever. Now that I have voiced my arguement, let the reader decide whether she should be taken in with Logan or whether she should simply become a memory, without the conflict within Logan.
