For those who'd like a second opinion on Eclipse's "Strange Days" (see Moriarty's earlier review), I found it bizarre but intriguing and entertaining. I'll certainly get the next issue, if it ever comes out... "Strange Days" is produced by a British team and consists of three main features with two unintelligible one-page stories. The first one, Freakwave, takes a post-nuclear war "Road Warrior"- type scenario to its extremes (Mad Max is mentioned in one of the captions). The plot involves the search for some messianic figure (the Dubious Mutant or something to that effect) by various factions across a bizarre and fascinating landscape. The art suits the story well. The second strip "Johnny Nemo" is another futurist tough cop story, but "Paradax" which closes the book is rather funny and cast more in the traditional mode ( a "traditional mode" for comics? UGH...) A rather nice debut, netlanders who enjoy the madness of movies like Buckaroo Banzai and Road Warrior probably should give it a try. Bill Hsu pur-ee!hsut
