<you're all invited to my house Tuesday for a duck dinner - you bring the duck> In this month's editorial in First Comics, Mike Gold mentions that Fantagraphics is reprinting all of EC Segar's tales of Popeye. Does anyone know how to get these? The little I've seen of this strip is really classic stuff (despite the limitations of daily strip size), and I'd really like to have some more. While I'm thinking about it, do today's continuity strips seem slow to most people? The only one I am able to bring myself to follow in our paper is "Steve Roper/Mike Nomad" and the first two panels are usually the same action as the day before (and Sunday rarely advances the plot at all). I had the same problem with a paperback collection of the Spiderman strip - it's even more obvious when you don't have to wait a day. Rambling even further from my initial reason for this, going back to "Steve Roper", was anyone else out there shocked and disappointed in the way the last "adventure" worked out? It was just out of the blue.. Sheriff: Well Mike she died, what are we going to tell her mother? Mike: You tell her, I've got to go find another love interest..
