[net.comics] A few 'didja notice' es and another question

Alpha Flight seems to be getting a lot of bad press on the net lately,
personally (as opposed to corporately) I like it. I did notice a few
inconsistencies in the recent issue with the origin of Gilded Lilly though,
and I wondered if AOT(*) has any speculation on them. First, she says that
she was motoring through the Alps in 1875. (And a picture of an antique car
is shown). I'm almost certain that there wasn't any car capable of that
then (the Otto engine wasn't even invented till 1876). Second, her story
gives no explanation for how she became what seems to be a robot. What I'm
wondering is, did Byrne just lapse, or are we to consider her whole story
to be a lie?

Also read XMEN 192 recently (the one with Magus). Thankfully, things are
looking up after the dismal "barbaric New York " storyline. My observation
here is that Magus has no trouble referring to himself as "I". Do you suppose
this is intentional and that Warlock's (who is seemingly a fairly
intelligent fellow and should be able to understand the use of the first
person singular) constant referral to himself as "self" is indicative of some
kind of ego problem that he will have to face before defeating his father?

Finally, just a plain question about the above mentioned issue. What in the
world is that giant plug Peter pulls out of the ground at the beginning?
I have no idea what it could be (unless it was the stopper for New York,
which seems to be going down the drain anyway :-) ).
