[Flash...he's already dead, so who cares if the line eater gets him.] No matter how brave they say they're going to be in Crisis, I have a feeling that there's no way they could kill Earth-1 and leave Earth-2 around. In the interests of fairness, and to make life interesting for all, I think they'll end up with a single Earth/Universe that is a compendium of all the existing Earths, and that all the old ones will go bye-bye. This means that at long last, Metropolis will bite the big one along with Gotham City, and we'll have good old New York replace them. Some heroes will die, some will combine into new entities (e.g. Supergirl), some may come from whole new places, etc. The history of this new world will be different from past histories and conflict free. I don't know what Earth-Prime is (our non-super world?), but there is the possibility that this final combined universe will be somewhat akin to Zelazny's Amber, the "real" world that has been underlying all the other ones all these years. The Monitor is from this world, as is the Enemy (who could very well be some alternate-earth form of the Monitor). We'll see as time goes on. Jim Gardner, University of Waterloo
