I have a few words to say about a few things.
(1) I've been missing some amount of net.comics messages. Mostly this is due
to the weird way in which I get them. I'm not directly on Usenet, and I get
them batched up on a daily basis and mailed to me, as most of the people
within DEC do. Due to the amount of netnews mailing done by the Distributor,
things are only sent out once. If for some reason, my machine is down, or
otherwise inaccessible, that's it, no second chance, I miss that mailing. It
seems that that's been happening with increasing frequency lately.
So, if there have been comments directed to me posted in net.comics,
it's quite possible that I never saw them, so if you were hoping for a reply,
you probably won't get one. At any rate, I'd like to make a request --- if
any of you want to post a reply to something I've said in net.comics, go ahead
and post it for the benefit of others, but please send a copy directly to me
via mail to make sure that I see it.
(2) There are a few things that I promised some time back that I haven't
gotten around to yet. Two things that I can thing of especially are (1) the
3rd and 4th installments of my "Guide to British Comics" (these are *way*
overdue) and (2) an explanation of the Beast/Thor/JLA crossover. The latter
will be winging its way to net.comics Real Soon Now. Unfortunately, the
former will have to go by the wayside. I just don't have enough time to put
into them right now. Sorry.
(3) I've been very busy lately, and I'm way behind on my comics reading.
right now, I've got three weeks worth of comics to read. I hope to get to
some reviews soon. I'll probably send in reviews as I read enough to review
in a batch, rather than wait until I've read all of them.
(4) Back around late January, Bill Hsu solicited votes for a poll he was
conducting on the Best of 1984. I regret that I never found the time to
look through my collection for 1984 comics so that I could send in my votes.
Anyways, I haven't yet seen the results. Were they ever posted? If so, could
someone send them to me? Bill? Or are you still soliciting votes?
If the poll is over and the results have been posted already, I may
end up posting my choices anyways. I have to fill out the COMICS BUYER'S
GUIDE ballot anyway, one of these days, so I can just post those choices
here. Don't know just when I'll get to it, though.
