From: Mike Ciaraldi <ciaraldi> Someone sent me mail the other day asking about comics shops in Rochester NY, and I managed to lose the return address. So, in the hopes that he gets what he needs, here is a quick look at stores in Rah-cha-cha... Biggest is Empire Comics, on Mt. Hope just north of Elmwood, which puts just off the edge of the University of Rochester campus. Very good selction of new comics from all major publishers, and a fair number of minor ones. Lots of back issues, priced pretty much according to guide. Has monthly half-price sales on back issue-- next one is April 8, I think. Wonderland Comics is on South Avenue about a mile south of downtown Rochester. Much smaller than Empire, but a fair selection of back issue, maybe somewhat cheaper. Good selection of new comics, from major and minor publishers. Comic Book Heaven, on Main Street, three muiles east of the center of Rochester. Also fairly small, but carries many smaller publishers; this is where I buy SPACED and DOMINO CHANCE, for example. A good supply of back issues. Empire and Wonderland both publish catalogs for mail order; i don't know about Heaven. Heaven does have a wide range of grades for back issues, which can save you money. Hope this helps. If you need addresses, let me know. Mike Ciaraldi rochester!ciaraldi
