[net.comics] Secret Bores II

I don't intend to buy Secret Wars II any more than you do, but it occurs
to me that if somebody out there *is* buying it, he'd do us all a favor
if he summarized the stories for the net. That way, the last vestige of
a reason to buy it would go away. (You can always hit 'n' when the
Subject line comes up, if you really can't stand to know about Shooter's
latest atrocity.)

OK. I'll hang my head in shame and summarize what happened in
the first Issue of Secret Wars II. The Beyonder comes to earth
seeking knowlege. The guy who controls matter, cann't recall his
name right, now tells the Beyonder to experience things. So off he
goes to LA, great place for experience. He runs into the XMen, some
of the New Mutants, and Captain America. They have to fight a man
on a flying horse, a magazine editor who the Beyonder gave some power
to. So it looks like our friend is just going to wander around
earth getting into people's way trying to "gain experience."

It would frivolous of me to point out that you omitted the part
where the Beyonder, the Molecule Man and his girly friend watch
Laverne and Shirley. The thing that really gets to me is that the
Molecule Man is SUCH a fool... Please tell me (no, don't) why
the man who controls all molecules needs to worry about missing
parts of TV shows... or why he puts out fires by stretching the
faucets of the kitchen sink by 20 feet and spraying the room with
water...
