Crossfire #10
(with random comments on #s 8&9)
Well, it looks like Cadaver is (excuse the phrase) softening
up. He is no longer the raving maniac he was presented as
in DNAgents. I do like the way the series is being
developed; one does know that Rainbow and Crossfire will
(ahem) 'get together', but one just doesn't know when. I
think it will probably be a mild surprise to us all.
Crisis #5
Oh, foo, it looks like Wildcat is down for the count
(ouch!). I *really* liked the character (not in the latest
Infinity Inc. mag, though), especially back in the last
incarnation of the All-Star Squadron (late and lamented). I
also wish that they would just let the Flash die and be done
with it. They have dragged him through every imaginable
horror in his own magazine (which I have going back to #210
or so), and now they have him reduced to a whimpering
emasculated shade of himself. That's cruel.
X-Men #196
This is a must read for anyone who has been on the receiving
end of a witch-hunt. I hope Magneto is developed to the
fullest extent, he deserves it. Especially since Magneto was
one of the original "complex" villians done by Marvel. I do
side with Rachel on her feelings toward the anti-mutant
populace. The old line of "don't bring yourself down to
their level" works only so far, and after all, morals don't
work when one is dead. The Beyonder can go take a hike.
Random comments: Anyone notice that Perry White is developing
ALzeheimer's disease? Does anyone *care* that Guardian is back? Why
should Sasquatch be surprised that Aurora only wanted his body? And
why do the X-Men keep going from the sublime (196) to the
ridiculous (197: Arcade shows up again *sigh*)?
