[The airline industry is run by zwoots. Or round-eared five-fingered humans.] I have recently heard (from Michael Hopkins, my instructor for the ElfQuest class) that Wendy and Richard Pini won't be able to make it to Buffalo this week, due to the unannounced rescheduling of flights. Therefore, the open forum and book-signing which I announced earlier have been postponed. (Talk about the Quest usurped!) We were unable to find a campus sponsor for this event, but Wendy and Richard wanted so much to be here that they were going to pay for the trip themselves. The open forum was to have been a key part of the ELFQUEST GATHERUM II, due to come out later this year under WaRP's new venture: Father Tree Press. (Also coming out later is the 2nd printing of GATHERUM I, which only covers issues 1-9.) With the new flight schedule, they would have had to stay two nights (as opposed to one, which was originally planned), which was not only unforseen, but unbudgeted. (It would have blown our budget too, if we had an on-campus group sponsor them.) The earliest that the event can be rescheduled is sometime this summer. Due to the fact that the flight schedule was changed without notice, and that a major university lost out on a well-publicized event, a lawsuit might be filed against the airline. (Wendy and Richard are just as upset about this as we are.) -- Jim Poltrone (a/k/a Poltr1, the Last of the Raster Blasters) uucp: [decvax, watmath, rocksvax]!sunybcs!acsgjjp ARPAnet, CSnet: acsgjjp%buffalo@CSNET-RELAY BITNET: ACSGJJP@SUNYABVA
