Laurie's first guess of staffing problems at Marvel may not be that far from true. While at Baycon over Memorial weekend, some of the artists in the SF Bay area, who work for Marvel, had a tabel setup. They were displaying and selling some of their work. Those whose names I remember are Cindy Martin (Star Wars) and Adams (Long Short). There also 2 others. I think one was an inker. Anyways they did what most co-workers do - gossip about work. It seems that there may be some turnover problems with the pencilers and inker, who can not make the schedules or have just had it with Marvel. Not all is rosy in the land of Marvel. The nice thing was I got to see the pencils for the New Mutant and X-Men annuals. The artwork was excellent. There was only the dialgoue the artist had thrown in, which had nothing to do with the story, but both should be very interesting. Karma was back for the NM annual. Rachael was sporting the new custome that has been mentioned on the net. The Asgardians get in on the storyline. Storm was in the NM Annual, but I don't remember her in the XM. If Charlie really does buy the farm, maybe Storm is the new mentor of the NM? That could explain why Magneto is with the XM. Miriam Amos Visiting DEC Engineer at UCB
