[net.comics] Some items out of the Amazing Heroes Preview

moriarty@fluke.UUCP (The Napoleon of Crime) (08/01/85)

Some interesting things in the Amazing Heroes Preview -- but
before I get into this, get it! The cover by Scott McCloud is worth it
alone (shows Zot & Company in a comics shop, and some of the
comics covers are hilarious. For example, an X-Men cover with
Ororo saying "Goddess!" and the villain saying "God is a MAN,
punk!"; the title is "the combined menace of The Hellfire Club and
The 700 Club!". Also Thor ("Look, Mommy! It's He-Man!") and
more fun than anyone should be allowed to have...).

Alan Moore's Comic looks like it'll be called Dodgem Logic.

A DISTANT SOIL #6 should end the Prelude (about time!).

Paul Smith is leaving Dr. Strange; hope he'll take something where
his pencils will regularly be in evidence...

The FIRESTORM graphic novel is promised to appear "in this
century".

Apparently everybody concerned with SWAMP THING and MR.
MONSTER (except DC) would love to have a team-up issue. Egads!
I'll just settle for a second issue...

A limited ROCKETEER series will begin later this year, supposedly.
Remembering Steven's schedule, the year it ends in is not known...

Jim Shooter PROMISES there will be no SECRET WARS III. And we
all know that Jim Never Lies, and Goes To Bed When He's Told, and
all that good stuff. Besides, they could always call it Return of the
Secret Wars...

Nice to see one of the most original and best of the stories to
appear in Marvel's BIZARRE ADVENTURES title will get it's own
Graphic Novel -- Greenburg the Vampire. Very good -- check it
out.

And several butcher's aprons....

"I don't like this... it was
                 too easy."
"You think it was a trap, huh?"
"NAH... It was just too easy...
I didn't get to shoot NEAR
                 enough people..."

        Expect the Unexpected.
He does. ---> Moriarty, aka Jeff Meyer
