[PS from Moriarty... Henry and Audrey will be at the Atlanta Fantasy Fair this next weekend (the first weekend in August). I sure won't, my grandparents are in town (they use to run the family crime syndicate)...] A little news: Bill Willingham will be the new penciller for American Flagg. Dave Kraft talked to Bill recently and discussed it with him. Willingham says he will NOT try to draw AF like Chaykin (maybe that's how you spell it). It is also not clear who will be writing the book. Howard may stay on as writer, but from what I've heard about his feelings towards First, I'd kind of doubt that (but anything can happen). With Willingham on AF, that leaves many people wondering what will happen to the Elementals. I'm sure SOMEBODY knows, but they don't seem to be talking. First is dropping hints - saying things like (paraphrased) "With Bill drawing American Flagg, what will happen to the Elementals?" It seems to me that they are implying they will be publishing the book soon (once again, Comico loses a good selling book). Only time will tell... Mentioning Comico and books they have lost, if you liked Evangeline (I did) and are waiting for it to appear somewhere else (I was) you may be in for a disappointment. The woman who does it (her name slips my mind at this time) has not got that great a reputation in the business right now. If you remember, she claimed that Comico had all the pages from her for the third issue but just weren't printing it. That, of course, if just plain rediculous! No publisher sits on an issue of a book that is selling extremely well for them! Comico responded to those accusations by saying that they had hardly seen any of the artwork and kept being put off. It turned out that the woman wanted out of her Comico contract and had hopes of getting more money elsewhere. However, her antics blew it for her and, most likely, Evangeline. No comic company wants to have someone who will pull what she did as soon as it looks like they can get more money else- where! In regards to this, I`ve been trying to speculate what the secret fourth feature in FIRST ADVENTURES will be a few months from now. Is this just a wild guess, or does anyone else think it might be ELEMENTALS. Sure, ELEMENTALS can make it on its own, but I think the same might as well be said of Dynamo Joe and Whisper.
