A few news items: Apparently, almost 15% of Miracleman #1 were damaged in transit over the Atlantic (what did they ship it by, The Nautilus?). According to the story in the Comics Buyers Guide, the comics were shrink-wrapped poorly, so some of the covers were in bad shape. Interestingly, no dealers have asked to have their orders cancelled -- the general feeling is that the comic will be bought by fans one way or another. So look out for a good copy... And the other thing I have to comment on: there's a full-page ad in the CBG advertising a DC comic coming out which combines -- get this -- the characters from Oz, Alice in Wonderland and (Santa Maria!) Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew. My general reaction: ugh, but Roy Thomas hasn't done anything *really* stupid in three years. If this is his project, he sure is making up for lost time in spades. Somehow, an attempt to put Captain C. in the same class as Oz and Alice seems pretty presumptious. Delusions of grandeur, mon captain? Not to mention the disimilarities in style between Alice and the Oz books... Like, gag me with a spoon.... "Strong men blench! Women scream! Children vomit!"
