[net.comics] Results of the ENTERTAINMENT VS FINANCE poll on comic buying

moriarty@fluke.UUCP (The Napoleon of Crime) (09/03/85)

Well, if this is the labor day weekend, this must be the comics buying:
entertainment vs finance poll.

In the original article, I asked you to answer the following:

> I buy comics
>
> a) Almost completely for entertainment value, and hardly for
> financial reasons at all (resale value, etc.).
>
> b) More for entertainment value than for financial reasons.
>
> c) Equally for entertainment value and financial reasons.
>
> d) More for financial reasons than entertainment value.
>
> e) Almost completely for financial reasons, and hardly for
> entertainment value at all.
>

Of the 39 answers (including mine) I recieved:

56.41% of those responding voted (a).
41.03% of those responding voted (b).
2.56% of those responding voted (c).

No votes for (d) or (e), so the truly mercantile don't inhabit this
newsgroup...

The answers I got were extremely enjoyable reading -- nice to know I'm not
the *only* one to use the excuse of financial gain to pacify Mom! Bless
her, she still thinks I could cash in a few for a quick gold ingot any time
I felt like it....

Thanks to all who responded!
