I'm probably getting into this discussion a bit too late (and everyone may have already forgotten it) but I'm going to add my 2 cents worth to the rational behind Brainiac's reaction to Supergirl's death. We all know that he knew she would die during the Crisis. However, I believe that he wanted to try to change the past, to save her - or at least to spend as much time as he could with her. He was present at her funeral and this really marks the time, for him, that she died. The time in HIS lifespan that she ceased to exist. He can no longer expect her to come forward 1000 years to help out the Legion. There's no longer anything HE can do to change it. Even though she'd been dead for 1000 years to everyone else, to him her death had just happened. That's why I think he is grieving so much. Comments? Opinions? Henry Vogel
