From: pugh (William Pugh) Well, I finally got some replies about the fate of Opus, and there's not much to tell. Around the end of July, Cutter John and Opus were attempting to travel to Washington, D.C. by ballons (ballons were attached to Cutter John's wheelchair and Opus got tangled in the ropes during lift-off). Once in Washington, Cutter was going to zap the South African ambassidor to the pigmentizer, a device invented by Oliver Wendle Jones which will temporarily turn a person's skin black. However, they missed Washington, and at last report were going down over then ocean and presumed to be 'squid bait'. Recently, Opus turned up back in Bloom county, but he had lost his memory and thought he was a human. As far as I have heard, Opus has not learned that he is a pengin yet, and there has been no word of Cutter John or Miss Harlow. That's the news as of the moment. Since I got a number of requests for this information, I will post any other major events that happen in Bloom County. Right now, this issue appears to have been dropped while Oliver breaks into the Pravda typesetting computers. Until later, Bill Pugh Cornell University
