[net.comics] Few interesting news notes from CBG

Joe Stanton will be taking art chores for American Flagg. It was hinted
that between this and his DC stuff, he wouldn't have time for any more E-Man
work...

After the Wonder Woman title is canceled, and the Trina Robbins mini-series
completes, it sounds like a completely new Wonder Woman will be popping up
in a regular title.

Frank Hampson, creator of the "Dan Dare" strip for Eagle in the fifties,
died. I'm sure anyone who saw the beautiful reprint collections of Dan Dare
will not forget his work -- it is detailed, wonderful work; and while most
great American comic artists of our era point to Eisner as an inspiration,
just as many British artists point to Hampson -- and Dan Dare.

And, on the frivolous side, there's some neat limited-edition Flaming Carrot
T-shirts on the market ("NEXT time... you speak when you're spoken to!");
and I ONCE AGAIN tell you what a wonderful publication CBG is, how much I
enjoy the Everett True strip (especially as it lampoons that cretin Groth
this month), and blah blah blah blah blah....

"WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF AN ALIEN ATTACK:

ONE) Hide beneath the seat of your plane and look away.
                    TWO) Avoid eye contact.
THREE) If there are no eyes, avoid all contact."
