[net.comics] DC also produces Etheopian aid Comic

moriarty@fluke.UUCP (Jeff Meyer) (09/25/85)

In this weeks CBG, it was announced that DC will be releasing their own
Etheopian aid comic, bring in talent from Marvel, DC and the various
independents. It was not announced what the comics will be about, nor what
established comics characters (if any) will appear in it. Jim Starlin and
Berni Wrightson, two of the people responsible for putting together the
Marvel "Heroes for Hope" comic, approached DC at the same time. It was
decided to relase the Marvel aid comic first, and release the DC aid comic
(and news of the release) afterwards, so the two aid comics would not
compete with each other.

Also (a quick plug, since I get so much news from CBG each week) in the CBG
this week:

1) Cat Yrownde gets a nasty note about her view of history from a noted
European (female) comics creator. Looks like this could grow into
    a net.flame-style debate...

2) Ward Beatty's Trufan adventures shows what would happen in Real Life to
comics characters with certain powers (e.g. The Ghost Rider: "HELP! MY
DAMN HEAD'S ON FIRE!", Reuben Flagg with herpes). Pretty funny stuff.

3) Tony Isabella and Evertt True decide to force Jim Engel to start up
    Fandom Confidential again. Yow!

"But like the Good Books says... There's BIGGER DEALS to come!"
