[net.comics] SOUTHERN KNIGHTS UPDATE

A SOUTHERN KNIGHTS UPDATE (significantly less gloomy than last time)

First of all, for those of you out there who ARE waiting for SK#10 (hi
Hutch!), it *should* be out within a matter of weeks. Everything is at the
printer so any delays from here are the printer's fault (although we've used
this guy before - he prints Comics Interview, too - so I expect it to be out
soon). The cover for #11 is being colored (by someone other than the guy
who colored #10's cover) right now and the artwork for both the main story
and the back-up are theoretically in the mail now! In other words, there not
be a long delay between #10 and #11 (if all the above suppositions are true,
#11 might even come out less than 2 months after #10)! #12 and #13 are both
pencilled and #12 is completely scripted and about to go to the letterer.
I've scripted about a third of #13 already. These are the first issues drawn
by Mark Propst for us. Why the first? Well, as of yesterday (Tuesday, Oct.
1) Mark is the main penciller for the Knights! Chuck will continue to do
back-ups for us. What does this mean to you readers? Well, Mark sees no
problem with turning the book out monthly! Needless to say, we won't jump to
a monthly publication schedule just yet (it would probably be a good idea
for us to succeed at a bi-montly schedule first) but it won't be too long
before we will (four or five issues - maybe six). Mark has been a fan of the
Knights since the beginning (back when they weren't the Knights) and is
really excited about getting the book. In other words, things are looking up
once again!

That's it for this update. As soon as I have some more news to pass along,
rest assured I will!
