Well, we've been expecting this all along, and here comes (back?) Jean Grey, aka Marvel Girl, to grace our printed page again.. Actually, my only big beef with this story is the cover, which makes poor Jean look like she is about 7 years old (a well developed 7 year old?-- anyway, the proportion is *way* off). Jean *looks* much better than the last I had seen, and comes across as a very symapthetic character. It makes me wonder how Marvel is planning on handling the final of the Jean/Maddy/Scott triangle. They have all been portrayed as reasonable people, and someone has to get hurt. Byrne did an inspired piece of writing here, I hope it keeps up... ******* Now for a contrary point of view: This shouldn't have had to happen, anyway. Jean Grey was never intended to be done in as "Phoenix", and we all have you-know-who to blame for that. Maybe he can handle the second chance (one he never should have gotten) better... I hope so...
