[net.comics] The Jim Shooter Trial

yoshida@hpfcla.UUCP (11/11/85)

(DISCLAIMER: While I'm not one to be shouting "Hallelujahs" all over
the Net, I'll make an exception this time. But just this once...)

An award goes out to Moriarty (a.k.a. Jeff Meyer) for his tense
courtroom drama documenting a fictious trial of the *infamous* Jim
Shooter. What can I say but "Good Job, Jeff." While not everyone may
agree with the latest Stupid People's Court, you've gotta appreciate
the humor. "Sure," you say, "anyone can make low blows like Moriarty
did." Yah, but Jimbo was asking for it...the bigger they are, the
harder they fall! The latest SPC walked that fine line between humor
and good taste. Okay, so maybe Moriarty crossed that line in his
jibes at Jimmy-boy, Marvel, et al. But hey, these are dark times when
Jean Grey is resurrected and there seems to be no end to Secret Bores.

And so, for his keen observations, tacky humor, and stunning portrayal
of Judge Wapner Moriarty, I hereby present Jeff -- err -- Moriarty
(Jeez, don't you have problems with an identity crisis at times,
Jeffy?) with the "Flame-On Award" for "Most Appropriate Subject In
Net.Comics." Yes, say what you might, but this is the kind of flame I
like -- intelligent (?) and sarcastic. None of this senseless name
calling. Just good old fashion Lampooning. Anyone can call an idiot
names, but it takes talent to insult someone without mentioning
  four-letter words.

We now return you to your regular programming...

(P.S. Don't think I'm making these "praise" articles a habit, Jeff.
And when are you going to get those reviews out?!)

  "It's Shhhowtime!"
