I just read New Mutants #37 this weekend, and they do indeed bite the dust, mercilessly slain by the "One from Beyond". Of course they're also going to be brought back to life, mercilessly (:-) raised by the same chap. I mean if you can't tell this is a hook to buy the last issue of Not-so-secret-anymore Wars, then I wish you a lifetime subscription to Shooter's worst. (Besides, the trailer for the next issue of NM indicates the title will be "Aftermath". If they're all dead, it won't be much of an issue now will it?) Did anyone else laugh as hard as I did when I saw the cover of the latest (and last) issue of Dazzler? It reads (and I kid you not): BECAUSE YOU DEMANDED IT! THE LAST ISSUE! Maybe Shooter *IS* listening! Scott J. Berry ihnp4!hou2g!scott P.S. It's too bad, actually. The book had improved vastly under Goodwin...

I admit that the artwork and story this time if and only if I considered it as a last issue. To me, you are either dead or alive: people simply don't die in this issue to be resurrected a month later. I am truly sorry about this because only a year ago this was one of my favorite comics. It once had great characters and wild, wonderful artwork, but now all it has are dead folks. Anyway, according to Amazing Heroes, the next 3 issues consist of: Magneto be- trays the mutants to the white queen, changes his mind and tries to rescue them, fails, calls up the Avengers to save the day. However, in *POWER PACK*, Kurse seriously injures Mrs. Power, and the Beyonder says that he can't help her. In Peter Parker, he cannot help the Puma's mentor after he is shot. Is this a trend? Maybe he isn't all-powerful. Are we sure that the NM will survive? -- 'Verily, there be no leader as wise as the Vision!'
