I haven't posted anything on the net in quite a while, so I'm going to be touching on a bunch of different topics. Many of them are questions posed by various people out there, but I have no idea what your names are (sorry). First of all, someone wanted a reason for disliking X-Factor. Besides any characterization complaints I may have, the premise itself is stupid. If you want to help a race of people would you REALLY do your level best to increase the public's fear of them as a race? That's patently ridiculous! If your local area had an anti-comics compaign on, would you help comic readers (admittedly not a race in and of themselves, but they serve for the example) by telling the anti-comics group that they were right, comics are dangerous, and then teach the comics readers how to buy and read comics in secret? The whole idea is stupid. Someone else mentioned Killraven. The graphic novel came out several years ago - it was one of the first ones. I thought there was quite a bit they could have covered in the graphic novel that they didn't. I enjoyed the stories and would like to see the book come out again - IF it could be done as well again! Someone also mentioned Nexus. I've been with the book since the beginning and still find it to be one of the best comics being published today. I think most of the reviewers on the net would also agree with me. The thing that has bothered me most has been the anti-Marvel mania that some people have been posting. I will be the first to admit that I don't like quite a bit of stuff Marvel does. HOWEVER, I judge every book I buy on its content, NOT who publishes it! There are a large number of comic readers who will not pick up any book that doesn't say Marvel on it. There are also a smaller (much smaller) number of people who won't pick up any book that does say Marvel on it. Both groups are missing some good books. Also, just because most of the Marvel titles are set in the same univierse and therefore somewhat inter-related (as are most of DC's books) you don't have to buy every book that features a character you like! I buy the titles I enjoy and couldn't care less if my favorite character appears in Dazzler or ROM or whatever. The important thing to remember is to judge each comic book AS a comic book - regardless of who publishes it! Oh by the way, to all those posting most-important-events-of-the-year lists, you all missed THE most important event! What is it? Why, Comic's Interview taking over the publishing of the Southern Knights, of course! (So I'm a little biased....) And finally, for those of you who like Voltron (or, more likely, have kids who like it - or know kids who like it) the Voltron comic books will be out in January. There will be three of them - two of which were written by yours truly. The books will be distributed to comic shops, newsstands, and toy stores. I was quite amazed when I heard the print run for each book - 1.5 million copies of each issue! Wow - three millions comic books with MY name in them! The mind boggles... That's all for now!
