"First Comics is listing circulation figures for some of its titles, and the first two to come to our attention were: AMERICAN FLAGG! 43,624 GRIMJACK 35,537 "BATMAN...announced a total average paid circulation of 75,303 for the same period. For a direct-sales-only title to have a circulation amounting to about 58% of that of such a well-known newsstand title, something must be going well for independent titles." -- Don & Maggie Thompson in CBG #636, Jan. 24, 1986 These sales figures actually show how poorly BATMAN is selling. For an almost universally recognized character like Batman to sell so few copies is hard to believe. Perhaps the film will help the Dynamic Duo's sales. Incidentally, I just read that Adam West is 'looking forward to being reunited with his Batman co-star Burt Ward in the upcoming Batman feature film.' --Steve Richter USENET: {ihnp4,allegra!cbosgd}!okstate!uokvax!uok!slrichte USMAIL: S. That's most interesting that Adam West is looking forward to being reunited with Burt Ward in the upcoming Batman movie. Interesting because the last I heard was that the producers wanted to divorce their movie as much as possible from the old TV show and movie. This was mainly because they wanted to do a serious Batman movie instead of something campy. In fact I've seen Adam West on several talk shows where he has said he would like to be in the Batman movie but they keep telling him they don't want him. -- Keith Conrad Vaglienti Georgia Insitute of Technology, Atlanta Georgia, 30332 ...!{akgua,allegra,amd,hplabs,ihnp4,seismo,ut-ngp}!gatech!gitpyr!ccastkv In no way should my remarks be considered to reflect the opinions and/or policies of the Georgia Institute of Technology nor GIT's Office of Computing Services.
