Went to Americon on Jan. 19th, and this is what I heard/was answered. Cat Yronwode and the Eclipse entourage gave me the information on Zot! 10-and-a-half. Yes, they will be publishing it! The breakdowns and story will be by Scott McCloud (sp?) and the actual ink rendering by someone else. (Sorry, I didn't have my tape recorder, and my notebook was under the Grendels I was having Matt Wagner sign) It will be a "mini-comic". Apparently ,I read the Preview correctly. It will be eight pages, B&W, one 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper cut twice and stapled (i.e. quarter-page size). To GET one: Send (a) a quarter [25 cents], and (b) a 22-cent stamp to Eclipse. They will mail you back your isssue. About Matt Wagner: I saw the xeroxes for the entire first issue of Demon. Gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. More Mage-style than Grendel, but a little leaner. And yes, he is keeping in the thing that Moore did, with Etrigan speaking in rhyme. He said once it gets (oh, horror!!!!) re-inked by someone else, and he's finished the third issue DC will put it on the schedule. He also mentioned that once he finishes Mage's 15th issue, he will be moving to England for a year (no published artwork during that time.) just to take a rest and a change of scenery. When he returns he will be doing the Mage II and Mage III series. He gave no titles out, and refused to tell me who the narrator of the Grendel backups is. He said that it would become apparent at the end, and that the new Grendel series would pick up where that left off. --Kathy Li
