Just finished the latest Secret Origins (#2, with the Blue Beetle), and was reading the text page--quite a convoluted publishing history BB's had, by the way--when I came across mention of an upcoming maxi-series: CRISIS on CAPTIVE EARTH. Anyone hear anything about this? Comic Buyers' Guide or something? By the way, the origin story of Blue Beetle was just so-so. I wasn't too enchanted with Len Wein's script here, although he was likely constrained by the existing plot (Hokey, at best). Still, the dialogue was no great shakes, but I *will* try a few issues of the new BB title before making a final decision. The art by Gil Kane was...well...Gil Kane. Kane will not be doing the regular mag, though; I believe it will be Chuck Patton--I'm not positive. The character does show some promise, and I look forward to his "debut", hoping Wein will vindicate his performance here. But "Crisis on Captive Earth"?... Oh, and as a side note, I like the hypothesis put forth about Sensor Girl being Satan Girl. Now all they have to do is explain how she recovered her Gold Kryptonite-stolen powers (I'm sure Supes would like to know, too, although I imagine Byrne will do away with the concept anyway) or how she aquired similar ones. Would this mean Saturn Girl (gotta start watching my spelling here--Saturn, Satan, Sensor...) has been "rehabilitating" her in private? Or did Satan Girl repent at the end of her appearance--I forget. Anyway, an original idea. ========================================= "Now see HERE!
