BOOSTER GOLD while not being the best comic in the world, is very enjoyable. I read it and BLUE DEVIL after reading all my "serious" hero books. One thing I have found very interesting about it is we don't know who he is, yet. If you have any guesses as to the identity of this mystery masked-man, E-mail them to me. The winner will receive a fabulous prize*. Time limit -- until I buy the issue which reveals his real identity. I've noticed some discussion over who Sensor Girl is but no one seems to be talking about Booster Gold and Skeets. I've been trying to come up with some idea but all I draw are blanks. So far all I've been able to really figure out is that a) Booster has an old style Legion of Super Heroes flight ring. b) His costume is powered armor that provides him with flight, power blasts, super strength, and a force field that seems to be virtually impervious. c) Skeets seems to be a mobile computer with flight and an energy blast. The best idea I can come up with is that Booster is Brainiac 5 in makeup. Except for the fact that Booster keeps saying, "Wowzer" he suggest Brainy quite strongly to me. Perhaps he thinks the expression makes it seem more like he's from this era. My roommate thinks that he's Sensor Girl's brother... -- Keith Conrad Vaglienti Georgia Insitute of Technology, Atlanta Georgia, 30332 ...!{akgua,allegra,amd,hplabs,ihnp4,seismo,ut-ngp}!gatech!gitpyr!ccastkv In no way should my remarks be considered to reflect the opinions and/or policies of the Georgia Institute of Technology nor GIT's Office of Computing Services. Well, if Booster Gold is Brainiac 5 (no opinion myself--I only tried the first issue), then he REALLY went bonkers over Supergirl's death... ========================================= "What are you doing?" Did someone seriously make this suggestion? If it's true, then it's a really
good disguise, since Booster has a different face, body, skin color,
personality, abilities and IQ from Brainiac 5.

I don't really think that Booster is Braniac 5 but I wouldn't be that sure of it. Personally, I can't really tell if Booster has a different face than Brainiac 5 because of his mask. Its hard to tell on the basis of his build because Brainiac is always wearing at least moderately baggy clothes. Skin color can be fixed by makeup. All of Booster's abilities seem to be dependent of hardware. As we saw just last issue his costume is the source of his super strength, energy blasts, and force field. As far as his flight goes, he has a LSH flight ring. Before you put down Booster's IQ ask yourself this. Where did he get that costume and Skeets? I don't think they're the kind of things you just happen to find lying around. I'd still like to know where he picked up the Legion flight ring, especially since its the old style. I was under the impression that the only people that had those kinds of rings were the older Legionairres and the Substitutes. Brainiac is the only one in that group that comes close to Booster. Personality is the only real difference that can be proven and when you consider the psychological trauma that Brainiac has been through plus the trauma that Booster is apparently suffering because he can't go back to his own time...
