Obviously, Tim and I disagree on this book greatly, and I think I'll leave it at that -- I'd rather devote my net.comics time to reviews. I thought I had explained why I liked the graphic novel and that I did not find it trite. I'll leave the readers to judge. However, I believe he misunderstood one statement on my part, due probably to some rambling on my part. I mentioned good ol' Sturgeon's Law, i.e. 90% of everything is crap. I believe (am I correct, Tim?) than Tim felt that I was using that as an excuse for "God Loves, Man Kills" -- i.e. that it's crap but, heck, almost everything's crap, right? Excuse me if it sounded that way; I had put that in as a salve that there WAS (in my opinion) a lot of crap in the comics field, around 90% more or less. I was trying to point out that I agreed with Tim on the fact that most of comics are crap. HOWEVER, any comic which I grade at a C or higher is a comic I feel to NOT be crap, i.e. in the 10%. I do not feel that GLMK, Thunder Bunny, Swamp Thing, John Sable, and many others are crap. I was not trying to make that excuse; it would indeed be idiotic. I was just trying to point out that I acknowledge that much of what's out there IS (to me) crap. What more can I say? I liked the story, in particular the end, and didn't find it trite. Tim didn't and did, respectively.
