[Sinbad the sailor, the bla bla, oh forget it!] Does anybody remember the name of this early 60's cartoon? I honestly cannot remember, and can't find any references in books. There were three main characters: Colonel Bleep - a stick figure with a globe for a head (or was it a helmet?) with his feet attached to a wheel (or was he permanently mounted to a unicycle?). He seemed to have a nervous tic - he could never stay still, his feet would always move (perhaps the unicycle?). Squeak - a wood puppet, looked like pinocchio Scratch - a caveman general details: The program had background music and was narrated. The characters made sounds, but never spoke. I vaguely remember the beginning: We see Col. Bleep flying with his friends in tow (holding hands) "...Colonel Bleep ("doodle doodle doodle doodle best describes his sound), Squeak ("squeak squeak" as he pulls his head up and down) and Scratch ("scratch scratch" as he scratches his back with his club) are going to the island of _____ to ..." They lived on a crescent shaped island under a glass dome with a door on the top through which Col. Bleep would fly. In one episode, Col. Bleep was in front of a classroom full of creatures just like him. Help! Surely someone must remember this series! I also remember the show with "Col. Bleep", as I watched it religiously at some ungodly hour on Saturday mornings when I was but a hatchling. (I recall this is where I first learned how to spell "Colonel".) Sorry I can't remember the name, or who was responsible for the show, but the name of his island hideaway was "Zero-Zero Island", probably after the lat/long. coordinates, though I'm not sure. I seem to recall it was located off the western coast of Africa... ========================================= "Your analysis, Mr. Spock?" "Bad poetry, Captain." Scott J. Berry ihnp4!hou2g!scott
